Mia Albano is our League President for 2016-2018. Mia has been with the League since 2008. Mia has served as Fundraising Co-Chair, Community Programs Chair, Membership Chair, as well as, serving on several committees. “Junior League has given me the opportunity to grow as a leader and to feel empowered as a woman. I love welcoming new members and watching as their skills developing into confident, community leaders!” Professionally, Mia is a Guidance Counselor for the Pittsfield Public Schools. She holds an MA in school counseling and BA in sociology. She is married and lives in Pittsfield with her husband and two young children.
Becki Beron is our Community Programs chair for 2016-2017. Becki has been with the League since 2013. This is her second year as Co-Treasurer and she has previously served on the Community Programs committee. She joined after deciding to find an organization that would give back to the community and the Junior League fit the bill, focusing on women and children in Berkshire County. Professionally, Becki is a Sr. Teller Supervisor at Greylock Federal Credit Union and has worked in branches in Lee, Great Barrington and, most recently, Pittsfield. She volunteers with United Way and American Cancer Society though her work and is excited to work with the League to bring new initiatives to Berkshire County. She is married and currently lives in Pittsfield with her husband, Harry.
Alison Nowlain joined as a new member in September of 2015. She completed her “Done in a Day” project in May and is very excited to be serving the JLBC for the 2016-2017 year as Corresponding Secretary. Alison just recently relocated back up here from TX, where she lived for 10 years. She has always had a desire to serve her community and to work with amazing women while doing it. Alison has her Masters in Education degree and is in her 18th year of teaching. She lives in Lanesboro with her husband George and two daughters Chloe and Eva.
Jessica Shandor is our Fundraising Chair for 2016-2017, she has also served as League President and on several committees. Jessica has been with the League since 2009. Jessica grew up in Berkshire County and follows in her mother footsteps as a JLBC Leader. She is very excited to be able to work with such an inspiring group of women making a difference in the community! Professionally, Jessica is the Director of Conference Sales at Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort in Hancock, MA. She is married and lives in Lanesborough with her husband and daughter Alexis.
Nora Tassone is our Co-Treasurer for 2016-2017. Nora has been with the League since 2010. Nora has served as Fundraising Co-Chair, Social Media Co- Chair, and on several committees. Nora really enjoys the work she does with the JLBC and having an opportunity to volunteer in her community. She finds giving back to the community very rewarding and believes in the mission of the Junior League. Nora is also on the Human Services Advisory Board at Berkshire Community College. Professionally, Nora is the Director of Social Services at Fairview Commons in Great Barrington. She holds both a bachelors degree and a masters degree in Social Work from Westfield State University. Nora currently resides in Pittsfield with her husband Aaron.
Candace Wall is our Membership Chair (2016-2017) and President Elect for 2016-2018. Candace has been with the League since 2011, after moving back to the area from Chicago. Candace has served as Fundraising Co-Chair, Social Media Chair, and on several committees. She is looking forward to contributing to upcoming community programs and welcoming new members to JLBC! Professionally, Candace is Program Director for a community mental health program at The Brien Center. She is a licensed mental health clinician and holds an MA in forensic psychology and BA in psychology. She is married and lives in Southern Vermont with her husband and furbabies.
